Jolly LLB 3 Review: Akshay Kumar-Arshad Warsi is of first order in the drama of the courtroom; Saurabh Shukla steals the spotlight

Jolly LLB 3 reviews
Director: Subhash Kapoor
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Seema Biswas, Amrita Rao and Gajraj Rao
Star assessment: ★★★ .5
I revisited Jolly LLB 1 and 2 as a refreshment before walking in Jolly LLB 3. This is a franchise that has never relied on the song and dance routines, the macho fanfare or the cameos. Its strength lies in convincing plots and high performance.
The big question is then: does the third episode correspond to the reference defined by its predecessors?
All on Jolly LLB 3
Subhash Kapoor returns as a writer-director, which again directed the chaos of the courtroom. This time, the case is not a flight offense or a false meeting. Instead, the story starts with the suicide of a farmer at Rajasthan after losing his land. The conspiracy, based on 2011 land acquisition demonstrations in Uttar Pradesh, is quickly degenerating. At the heart of this is Haribhai Khetan (Gajraj Rao), the richest businessman in India, who dreams of building a canton “Bikaner to Boston” on the seized field. Jollys, Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, find themselves entangled in the case, preparing the way for a fiery legal duel.
Kapoor does not move away from the familiar model. The characters get back into their roles, which immediately makes the public at ease. The plot is simple and the first half breaks, although the scene just before the interval, intended to land with an impact, falls flat.
Sharp Second Less
The second half is the place where the issues are increasing. After the bases, we finally see how justice is continued. Music is a drawback here. A sentimental track seems useless, weighing down the story.
Writing is sharp in parts, dotted with humor and real leading of real heads, including a barely veiled reference to a certain “VM” businessman who fled to London after failing massive loans. These keys keep living satire.
What anchors the film is the casting. Akshay Kumar brings his brand misdeeds to Jolly, enlightening scenes with fast liners and delivers the monologue of the exciting audience room expected with conviction. Arshad Warsi continues to be effortlessly with humor and gels beautifully with Akshay, confrontation a treat to watch.
The weak link is the antagonist. Gajraj Rao is undoubtedly a good actor and brings a presence on the screen, but his character feels cliché in many situations. The fault lies in writing.
Saurabh Shukla is once again of the first order as a judge, his dominant screen presence reminds you why he is an integral part of this franchise. Seema Biswas like Janki Rajaram Solani adds Heft, and Ram Kapoor offers a solid impact as a lawyer.
The female tracks have nothing to do – Huma Qureshi as the woman of Jolly 2 and Amrita Rao because Jolly 1 barely obtains moments of importance, reduced to substantive roles in the wider drama.
Overall, Jolly LLB 3 may not eclipse the first two films, but he maintains the drama of the hearing hall alive with enough laugh and solid performance to make a worthy addition to the series.
