Dion McPhee came with hindsight with 4.3 seconds to play while Police Cromestoppers handled the men’s male basketball team John Brown on a visit 81-78.

Last night’s match at the AFDERLey Gymnasium concluded the Golden Eagles a week’s trip to the Bahamas from Arkansas, but crimestoppers were determined not to allow them to go home with the winning equipment.

McPhee, who collected four points in fourth while the crimestoppers made a return gallant, finished the match with 15 points. He said he had almost exploded the game, but was happy to do the work.

“I saw my big man (Richard Lowe) go down for a lay-up, but in this game, everything is likely to happen, so I just stayed with it and I was able to stick to it, have obtained the offensive rebound and I gave it to advance my team,” he said.

“It was a good victory for us to prepare for the government league. We must forge ourselves and tighten on certain things for the government league. ”

Garvin Clarke Jr, back from school, scored an 18 -point match to lead the police and was appointed the most useful player.

Lowe, also at the school house, had 12 and Adam Johnson added 11. Dastyn Baker contributed nine.

With the combination with which he had to work, the police coach Vernon Stubbs said that the crimestoppers simply wanted this more in the section with the advantage of the home court and the crowd that encouraged them.

“It was a good team that we played, but our guys came ready. We thank God for the victory,” he said. “When you are prepared, you are ready for everything. The defense won the match and my guys were resilient. This is what won the match. ”

For the Golden Eagles, Trae scored 16 points to lead three other two -digit players. Carter Carbonell had 14, Lepra George 13 and Jack Ullom succeeded 10.

Despite the defeat, John Brown’s head coach Jason Beschta said he knew it would be a battle until the end.

“After watching the previous matches and saw so many talents on this island, we knew that we will have to fight hard for it,” he said. “But what better way for us to finish this trip than for the game to go down the wire.”

As the match started, Johnson obtained a few blocks and Lowe propelled himself inside for a few baskets, while Clarke Jr entered and struck a few shots to put the police at the end of the first quarter.

After dragging the first quarter, the Golden Eagles connected to the three balls to reduce the deficit to one, 28-27. But the Crimestoppers overturned some three points to stay in advance 36-32.

John Brown University has entered the interior and equaled the score at 36-36 and a three points to increase 39-36. Despite a three-point pointer and a Clarke Jr pass for a buzzer lay-up, the crimestoppers have still dragged 48-47 at halftime.

In the first two minutes of the third, Johnson obtained two consecutive dunks for an equality of 52-52 for the police. The score remained equally in the majority of the period before the Golden Eagles draw a 69-65 head at the end of the final break.

First and a half minute in fourth, the police entered the interior for a deficit of 71-70. With 3:16 on the left, Lowe rolled inside for 78-76 crimestoppers in mind

Two minutes, Boaz Camp was held at rest for an equality of 78-78. With 1 hour to play, the Battle of the Golden Eagles has dirty, but Johnson missed the two free throws for crimestoppers.

After a few missed opportunities on both sides, McPhee obtained the decline with 4.3 seconds to put the crimestoppers 80-78. Clarke Jr then sealed the agreement by converting the last of his two charities for the final score.

Some other matches between the local teams were played before the last drink, but these scores were not available.
