John Belushi’s final role on a Leslie Nielsen series is impossible to look at now

Before his premature death in 1982, John Belushi was to appear in the hilarious television series Leslie Nielsen who gave naked films of bare firearms. Comedy icon, Belushi made his name in the late evening show “Saturday Night Live”, which marked his first television appearance with comedy partner Dan Aykroyd. Out of their time together on “SNL”, the two have developed the Blues Brothers characters, as those they published a platinum album at the top of the graphic and the comedy film, “The Blues Brothers”. Belushi was also known for his roles in films such as “Animal House”, the first feature film by Amblin Entertainment “Continental Divide” and “Neighbors”.
A credit that Belushi never received was finally for an appearance in “Police Squad!” This series of classic cult comedy, created by the legendary trio of Jim Abrahams and the brothers David and Jerry Zucker, ran only for six episodes before being canceled by ABC. Although network leaders apparently do not appreciate the non-stop Quickfire humor of the series, criticisms and viewers went to “Police Squad!” And years later, it was transformed into a successful comedy film, “The Naked Gun”. The film received two direct suites, and the franchise was relaunched this year in a suite inherited with Liam Neeson.
The role of Belushi on “Squad police!” followed the same format as the other stars in the series. Each episode announced a star of the famous guest in the opening credits, because the guest was then immediately shown killed, never to appear in the real episode. The Camée de Belushi was cut after the actor’s real death.
John Belushi’s lost police team! cameo
The guest stars appear, although briefly, on “Squad police!” Included William Shatner, Lorne Greene and Robert Goulet. Goulet would return to the franchise as Quentin Habsbourg, the villain of the second naked pistol film, “The Naked Gun 2½: The Sodel of Fear.”
According to Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker in the commentary on the DVD for the fifth episode of the series (the third to be broadcast), “The Butler did it (a bird in hand),” Belushi had a premonitory idea for his death of opening credits. The actor had suggested that he appeared with a needle in his arm, who died of a drug overdose. Shortly before the episode was due to the air, Belushi died following a real overdose.
The scene that was shot to “Police Squad!” did not use Belushi’s idea. Instead, Belushi has been shown to be chained to an underwater concrete block. The actor almost smothered by turning the scene, and he and the showrunners joked his Billology – a necrology that the producers found themselves reading a few months later.
“Benushi police squad!” Cameo was abandoned after his death. Given that the ephemeral cames of the guest stars were entirely confined to the credits of opening the show, there was not much to link a particular cameo to a particular episode. It is therefore clear which star guest replaced Belushi. Contradictory reports suggest that it was Florence Henderson or William Conrad, although the Camée de Belushi seems to be planned for episode 5 (third of the dissemination order), which featured bottleneck.
