Jimmy Kimmel took shots at Donald Trump after the Republican Party lost big on election night, pointing out that “it was not a good night for the president.”
The comedian reacted to the election results during Wednesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, where he congratulated the winners and roasted the losers, including Trump.
“Everything he touched was a loser,” Kimmel said in his monologue. “Trump hasn’t been this embarrassed since he found out there was a Donald Trump Jr. But don’t worry, if you’re tired of losing, fear not. He has one excuse. Actually, he has two.”
Kimmel then read Trump’s Truth Social post on Election Night, in which he cited an anonymous pollster who blamed the president’s absence from the ballot and the government shutdown for “the reasons Republicans lost the election tonight.”
The late-night host continued, “Now, if the Republicans had won, and he wasn’t on the ballot, would he take credit? Oh, yes, he certainly would. But he lost. And then he posted this… ‘And so it begins,’ which was either a response to Mamdani’s mayoral victory, or he just sat on the toilet.”
Kimmel then took shots at the entire Republican Party, calling on its members to “scream and cry about voter fraud” after losing big on Tuesday.
“It’s weird how it’s just fraud when they lose, right? I mean, what are the odds?” Kimmel joked. “It was a difficult evening personally for the vice president. JD Vance’s half-brother, VD Vance [real name Cory Bowman]lost his bid for mayor of Cincinnati. And I didn’t even know JD Vance had a half-brother, but he did. And even though he got JD’s endorsement, he lost by more than 56 points.
Democrats won key 2025 elections, including the gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey, the New York mayoral race and the Prop. vote. 50 in California.
