Jimmy Kimmel compares the meeting of Trump of the Canadian PM to “ an ewok that goes to a meeting on the death star ”

Jimmy Kimmel approached several subjects during his Tuesday evening monologue. For example, he opened with a long series of jokes on the 2025 Gala is. After that, Kimmel spoke about the meeting that Donald Trump had on Monday with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

“Trump has met Mark Carney, the new Prime Minister of Canada and the future governor of North Montana today,” joked Kimmel. “Before the meeting, Trump published on the way we have nothing to do with Canada, we don’t need their cars, energy or wood or what they have. But when the new Prime Minister came in person, it was as if they were some old friends.”

Kimmel then directed a Trump clip saying that the only “concession” that Trump wanted from Canada was “friendship”, then Trump talking about the Canadians he loves, including Wayne Gretzky.

“Poor Mark Carney had a job from Heduluva today,” continued Kimmel. “It was like an ewok going to a meeting on the death star. He managed it well.

Kimmel then directed a Carney clip saying that “Canada will never be for sale”, to which Trump replied: “Never say never” with a strange despair on his face.

“He’s Trump. He doesn’t take no response. In fact, he was tried responsible – before a court,” said Kimmel, referring to the trial against Trump deposited by E. Jean Carroll in which a jury found Trump responsible for sexual assault.

After that, Kimmel addressed Trump’s request for prices on films produced in other countries, joking at one point that the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent “has the behavior of the director of a boys school which is the subject of an investigation”.
