Jim Carrey almost left The Grinch and collected a $20 million payday

It wasn’t a picnic for me either, buddy
At the time, Hiro had said that everything was fine and everything ended well.
“About two months after filming finished, Jim and I talked again,” he told the Times. “He said he admired me, that I had done a great job and he thanked me. I also thanked him, because he went through all that. I think How the Grinch Stole Christmas It’s the hardest film I’ve ever worked on. It’s a good memory, but if we had to do it again… we wouldn’t!
It turned out that Hiro, who has since won two Oscars in 2017, The darkest Hour and 2019 Bomb-started therapy after his experience on HTGSC.
It got bad enough, Hiro told Vulture in 2018, that a producer suggested he leave to show Carrey how essential he was to the production. (The makeup department of the film was hugebut among the credits, Hiro is the only one dedicated to the Grinch.)
He didn’t answer when Carrey called after a week, Hiro said, but Howard assured him that the actor had vowed to change his ways.
While his friends encouraged him to ask for a big raise, the Kyoto-born artist went on to say that he would instead ask the studio for help in obtaining a green card.
It worked and he has since become a US citizen. (And therapy helped him realize he was “really introverted.”)
