The third time is the charm of Jesse Lee Soffer.
In an Instagram post of September 20, the first Chicago PD Star gave fans an exciting update: he will run a next episode of season 13! The Instagram carousel was filled with behind the scenes of Senber Back on the tray with its One Chicago family behind the camera.
“I was honored to spend time making with my FAM PD. More photos to come later, do not want to give too much episode! Very grateful ❤️,” he wrote in a legend. The last photo of the carousel says everything: Soff seems so happy to be back on the set.

Fans will look forward to the episode of season 13 led by Soffer – and why would they not do it?

The episode of this season will mark the third time the third time of Sofer. He previously produced “Siderload” (season 10, episode 16) and “Inventory” (season 11, episode 12).
The talented actor / director received complimentary criticism of his Chicago PD Co-stars over the years, with Laroyce Hawkins gushing AND In November 2022, before the beginnings of Soffer, in “Deadroid”.
“To get it on the touch that trains me, it’s a dynamic that we have always had,” said Hawkins. “He gave me something in this episode that I think I will keep with me for the rest of my career, and that’s how you know that you are a good director. There was a moment in the episode where it seems that, yes, we are about to do this scene, but to be honest, it could be a scene that could need them.
In words with Initiate NBCSoffer revealed the rapid recovery process to prepare to direct an episode.
“I only had the script a day or two before starting to prepare the episode,” he said. “It’s a shit shoot. You never know which script you will get or what it is until you do.”
Why Jesse Lee will come to the left Chicago PD
The character of Soffer, Jay Halstead, left the intelligence unit in season 10, episode 3 (“A good man”), marking the end of his nine -year race in Chicago. But why did the star decided to call him in the first place? During a conversation of February 2023 with VarietyThe actor highlighted the decision.
“I thought about the way to answer this question-and there is no right answer,” he said. “Except that I was ready for more.”

If “more” meant spending more time diving into his passion for staging, he must be very happy with his decision. His fictitious counterpart, Halstead, resigned from the intelligence unit after accepting a job offer with the army to find the drug cartels abroad.
“We all really wanted to do justice for the character of Halstead as best we could – to whom he was for the show – we really wanted to make this decision to leave his own decision. To make him just,” the showrunner Gwen Sigan told NBC Insider. “It was important to keep him alive and keep him in the world trying to do good. The idea he returns to whom he gave us this opportunity. The army has always been an integral part of whom he is. I think that this time with the rangers shaped him, his moral, his compass and his idea of good and evil.
