Jennifer Garner likes these pumpkin maple muffins – after trying them, I can see why

Jennifer Garner is a real “girl next door”. While we are entering the fall, or what I like to call the Pic de Rom-Com season, I was inspired to try a recipe from one of the best Rom-Com. Fortunately, I didn’t have to look too far. In recent years, Garner has brought his charm of the big screen to the very small screen.
In addition to acting in emblematic films, co-founding the organic baby food brand he was a farm and asking “what’s in your wallet?” In all these advertisements Capital One, Garner also hosts what she calls the “alleged cooking show” on her social networks.
The series of casual videos invites fans in her kitchen, where she humor shares her favorite recipes. The protruding facts include chicken pepper, 10 grain bread and lemon olive oil cake. Her mother is a frequent guest in her videos, making beloved childhood recipes such as muslin pie and cream corn. And, a lover of Ina Garten recipes, Jennifer even collaborated with Queen Ina herself to make cacio e pepe eggs.
Last year, Garner shared a video of herself making Alison Roman pumpkin maple muffins, a recipe for Take advantage of the kitchen. The video has many adorable moments, notably the extraordinary actress who cares about not having turmeric and appearances of her Golden Retriever, Birdie.

Why Jennifer Garner likes these pumpkin muffins
Jennifer says these muffins are “light” and “not too soft”, perfect for comfortable mornings with children. The muffin recipe has a little more fiber than many others because it uses an equal part of versatile flour and whole wheat flour. They are also sweet with brown sugar and maple syrup, a combination that amplifies the fall flavor even more. And we must not forget the brown butter, which is known to infuse a complex and hazelnut taste in any dish it touches.

How to make Jennifer Garner’s favorite pumpkin maple muffins
The recipe comes together in a few fast steps. If you never gilded with butter before, it’s actually quite simple. Melt the butter over medium heat, stirring from time to time until it begins to form and brown. “When it smells hazelnut, stop immediately because it can go from hazelnut to burned so quickly,” Garner explains in the video.
Reserve the butter and mix the flours, baking powder, baking soda and spices in a bowl. Whisk the remaining wet ingredients in a second bowl and add the dry ingredients to the wet. Finally, mix the brown butter. Divide the dough into a 12 cups muffin mold (or two boxes with 6 cups, as I did) and bake at 350 ยฐ for 20 minutes.

My honest criticism
These muffins are soft with a depth of flavor of fall spices, brown butter and maple syrup. I noticed that the brown butter flavor was very low when I ate the cold muffins, so I would recommend reheating the leftovers. As Jennifer notes in the video, the recipe makes a lot of dough for only 12 muffins. I like big bakery style muffins, so I take a lot of dough in each muffin mold. If you prefer the smallest muffins, you can do 18 instead of 12. I actually found that the muffins were quite sweet, so I would reduce the brown sugar from a third in the future.

Why should you do these muffins
If you are looking for a pumpkin muffin recipe that is not basic, it is the one for you. Brown butter and spice mixture really take this recipe from a notch. I particularly liked ginger, which gave the muffins a quality of gingerbread. With generous and healthy ingredients like pumpkin and whole wheat flour (which, by the way, I couldn’t taste it at all), they are a wonderful breakfast to start a morning of cold autumn.
