Jenna Bush Hager Posts ‘PSA’ While Discussing ‘Getting Drunk in High School’ With Willie Geist: ‘I Mean College’

Jenna Bush Hager and Willie Geist spent quite a bit of time discussing “getting drunk in high school” on Today with Jena and her friends until Bush Hager released a major public service announcement about underage drinking.

THE Today the hosts were discussing a recent interview in which George Clooney said he recently got “sick all day” after getting “drunk in high school.”

“Well, the man owns a tequila company. That’s a good place to start. So he probably took some of his own medicine,” Geist noted. The Sunday TODAY host added that he doesn’t consider himself “a big drinker.”

But Bush Hager didn’t believe it.

“You’re not a big drinker because you don’t drink to get drunk,” she pointed out, which Geist agreed with.

“I like a drink, but I don’t like being ‘high school drunk’ like he said,” Geist responded, to which Bush Hager noted, “I don’t like being high school drunk.”

Although they didn’t elaborate on what they meant by “high school drunk,” the two seemed to agree with Clooney’s statements about how it makes you “sick.”

“The older we get, the more we feel this way. [when you’re] drunk in high school, you don’t feel bad the next day,” Bush Hager emphasized.

She then spoke out against underage drinking in a direct-to-camera PSA. “Even though you’re not supposed to get drunk in high school, just a PSA. Don’t do it. I meant college!” she said.

Geist chimed in to agree. “No, it’s against the law,” she said during Bush Hager’s public service announcement. “Like your final year of college, when you’re 21.”

Bush Hager then joked that she ultimately meant “24-year-old drunk,” until Geist quickly moved on to the next topic of conversation to escape the increasingly awkward conversation.

Today with Jenna and her friends airs weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
