This fresh and fruity slat is my summer drink

I do this frozen slat with repeated strawberries this summer! With vibrant layers of strawberries and matcha tea, it’s fruity and refreshing.

Hot days call cold drinks! This summer, my iced strawberry matcha lak is the one I repeat. I fell in love for the first time from this ultra-withdrawal drink last August, and after Jack, Ollie, and I went to pick strawberries a few weeks ago, he quickly returned my rotation of cold drinks.

Here is why I like this matcha lanch with icy strawberries:

  • He combines two of my favorite things: Grassy and energizing and peak summer berries. They make a surprisingly excellent pair. The strawberries add a tangy and fruity sweetness which perfectly balances the bitter notes of Matcha.
  • It’s so beautiful. I love a colorful recipe, and on this forehead, this Strawberry Matcha offers. It starts with a vibrant red layer of macerated strawberries, has a white layer of milk (I use almond) in the middle and ends with bright green matcha on top. You will stir it together while you sip, but just after assembling it, it looks so pretty!
  • It’s great for the mornings and in the afternoon. This icy latte is not too sweet, so I’m going to drink it with pleasure in the morning. If it feels a little too involved to get out of bed directly, you can also prepare it for a mid-morning treat or a afternoon pickup.

If you are ready for a break in an icy cafe, or if you want to pass a classic iced matcha latte at another level, you should certainly try this matcha latte with iced strawberry. Fruity, refreshing and simply fun, it is the perfect drink for a hot summer day.

Do you want to try this icy strawberry matcha? Here are some tips:

  • Use a good quality matcha powder. In case you are not familiar, Matcha is a Japanese green tea powder made from finely ground tea leaves. Different brands vary considerably in quality and flavor. For the best results, I recommend using a ceremonial quality matcha. I like this golden matcha and this Matcha Kari Matcha for Lattes.
  • Frozen berries are a fair game. Fresh summer strawberries are great here, but frozen strawberries work well too! Let them thaw before making the latte.
  • Sweet to taste. You will add a small amount of strawberry sugar to help them release their juice, but beyond that, how much you soften your matcha to you. Make sure you check if your matcha powder is sweet. If this is the case, you will probably not need an additional sweetener in this drink.
