Jane Fonda saw Rob Reiner before his murder

Jeanne Fonda was shaken by the premature death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.

In fact, the two-time Oscar winner said she met the longtime couple just a day before they were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14.

“I saw them the night before last, looking healthy and happy,” Jane wrote on Instagram on December 15. “I’m in shock with grief. Stunned.”

Remembering the couple’s shared passion for activism, the 87-year-old added: “Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny and generous people, always coming up with ideas on how to make the world a better and kinder place.”

The Reiners had attended a star-filled Christmas party hosted by Conan O’Brien on December 13, sources confirmed to several media outlets.

The next day, police responded to the Reiners’ residence in the Brentwood neighborhood around 3:40 p.m., according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department. Upon arrival, officers “discovered two victims, who were later identified as Robert and Michele Reiner.”

“Following the initial investigation, it was determined that the Reiners were victims of a homicide,” authorities said in an LAPD press release. “The investigation further revealed that Nick Reinerthe 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner is responsible for their deaths.”
