The two-time Oscar winner will join the cast of Dear Everything: A musical uprising for the Earth for a one-night-only engagement on April 22, 2026 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York.
Directed by Diane Paulus with a book by V-Day founder V (formerly Eve Ensler, of The Vagina Monologues fame), the musical about climate change features a score blending folk and pop influences, with music by Justin Tranter, Caroline Pennell and Eren Cannata. Tranter, Pennell and V wrote the lyrics.
The show tells the story of Sophia, a teenager living in a small town where adults are willing to destroy the surrounding forest in exchange for financial gain. Refusing to accept the loss of her community’s natural world, Sophia rallies her peers to take a stand. Together, the group discovers a force they never knew existed – and a collective voice powerful enough to fight against forces far greater than themselves.
Fonda will play the play’s narrator, leading a cast of ten. A local youth choir, to be named, will also feature in the production, supporting the cast.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to take the BAM stage, alongside these powerful artists to bring Dear All in New York,” Fonda, 87, told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
“Our planet is burning because of a man-made climate catastrophe, and we must come together to confront it,” she adds. “Dear All It’s the power of solidarity and it gives us the anthems we need for our work.”

After traveling the country with this work, we have seen the power and joy it evokes, and we can’t wait to share it with New York. »
