Jamie Raskin paints rosy picture of ‘No Kings’ protests, ignores death threats against Trump, Stephen Miller

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin celebrated Saturday’s “No Kings” protests during a Monday appearance on MSNBC, saying they were “positive” and patriotic” despite death threats made against prominent conservatives by protesters.

Dozens of protests against President Donald Trump took place across the country Saturday, with prominent Trump critic George Conway wearing a T-shirt proclaiming himself a member of Antifa at one event. Other protesters interviewed at the events expressed hope that Stephen Miller, Trump and White House deputy chief of staff for policy, would die, something Raskin and MSNBC host Chris Jansing ignored despite posting the videos on social media on Saturday. “It was, of course, totally positive, totally patriotic and totally supportive of getting the U.S. government back to business, reopening and supporting the health care of the American people and supporting the federal workforce,” Raskin said. “And you know, I started off by saying that President Johnson was talking about a ‘Hate America’ rally, but that had already happened on January 6, 2021, when Trump incited a mob of insurrectionists who violently assaulted our police officers, injuring more than 140 of them in order to overturn a presidential election that he lost by more than 7 million votes. That’s what a ‘Hate America’ rally looks like.”

“This is what a ‘Love America’ movement looks like. And that’s why they’ve been trashing it for weeks now, because they know that millions of Americans are standing up against their authoritarianism,” Raskin continued.

Journalist Brandi Kruse posted video of a protester at the “No Kings” rally in Seattle being interviewed while holding a sign that read, “Would you kill Nazis?” [With] Me?” During the exchange, the man said he would kill Miller, whom he called a “Nazi,” if he had the chance.

Kruse later reported that the FBI was investigating the threats made by the man. Kruse also posted a video showing another protester saying Miler’s killing would be “justifiable.”

Miller and his family were forced to leave their home in Arlington, Virginia, after a campaign of harassment that included writing messages such as “Stephen Miller is destroying democracy,” “no white nationalism” and “trans rights are human rights” on public sidewalks near his residence, as well as posting flyers listing his home address.

In a video posted Saturday by The Maine Wire, a “No Kings” protester said that for her birthday, she wanted to wake up the next morning to read Trump’s obituary.

“Do you wish President Trump were dead?” » the journalist asked her, and she replied: “Yes. Absolutely.” (RELATED: “This is assassination talk!”: Journalist shuts down CNN rep over rhetoric)

At another “No Kings” event, this one in Chicago, a man urged attendees to shoot U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

“You need to pick up a gun, we need to turn around this fascist system. These ICE agents need to be shot and destroyed,” said the man, who stood in front of a Progressive Labor Party banner. “The same machines that are on display here must be wiped out.”

Also in Chicago, a protester from the “No Kings” movement shot counter-protesters in the neck who unveiled a flag honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was murdered on September 10, according to a video initially posted on Instagram before being republished on X by Colin Rugg. Social media posts later identified that protester as a teacher at a Chicago-area public school.
