This upcoming superhero movie will feature the return of David Corenswet as Superman and Hoult as Lex Luthor in a surprising team-up where they will face fan-favorite villain Brainiac. According to these latest updates, fans now have a glimpse of the state of production ahead of its release in 2027.
On social media, Gunn shared a photo of large stacks of paper, with a caption that read: “New stack of storyboards ready for crew Monday morning. #MoT.” He also added in response to a fan that a “huge part” of the film had already been scripted, but most of it wasn’t. Meanwhile, MovieWeb reported that Hoult has indicated when filming will begin. During his recent appearance at Peru Comic Con, the Superman The star revealed that filming is expected to begin in April next year.
“I can’t reveal anything, I’ll get into a lot of trouble. But we start filming in April.”
The man of tomorrow was first announced on September 10, 2025, two months after the theatrical release of Superman. The film is about a team-up between the Man of Steel and the evil billionaire, putting aside their differences to take on a new enemy. Concept art for the feature has been released and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabelle Merced like Hawkgirl, and Frank Grillo like Rick Flag Sr., and others are also expected to return. As of this writing, no one has been cast to play Braniac.
