James Gunn Shares Updates on DCU Slate and THE BATMAN PART II; Clues on the release of the SUPERGIRL trailer

We’re approaching three years since DC Studios first announced the “Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters” roster. A lot has changed since then, but James Gunn and Peter Safran scored three critical hits with Creature Commandos, SupermanAnd Peacemaker.

2026 is shaping up to be another big year for the DCU. Supergirl, LanternsAnd clay face are all on the way and production will begin on The man of tomorrow and the movie Elseworlds, The Batman Part IIin the first semester.

Responding to a fan on social media about what an average day as co-CEO of DC Studios looks like, Gunn shared an update on all of these projects.

“The pleasure of work is that there is no typical day! » wrote the filmmaker. “The majority of days are currently spent preparing for Man of Tomorrow – storyboarding [and] department meetings [and] scouting [and] casting, interspersed with reviews of cuts of Supergirl [and] Lanterns, marketing discussion on all projects, reading [and] take notes on new scripts.

Gunn added that he is “supporting the Batman 2 team to make sure everything goes smoothly, in the meantime [the first] cut of Clayface (can’t wait!), design approval for all kinds of stuff, [and] I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of things.”



Later, Gunn liked an article discussing the Supergirl trailer, leaving many fans convinced that it will be with us imminently. As a reminder, the film is expected to be present at the next CCXP event in São Paulo, Brazil, which will take place December 4-7.

With this in mind, it seems likely that we will get a Supergirl a preview as soon as possible. However, since it’s Thanksgiving weekend, we’re not betting it will stop until Hollywood gets back to work (which will be early next week after the holiday).

In SupergirlSupergirl travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and finds herself on a deadly quest for revenge.

The cast includes Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll. Craig Gillespie directs from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

Supergirl arrives in theaters on June 26, 2026.
