James Gunn has just traced the line between the DCU and Snyreveverse with 1 key decision

The owner of the DC studios, James Gunn, has just revealed how he will draw the line between the DCU and the Snydeveverse with a key decision. Gunn’s new DC interconnected DC was not a completely fresh start for the world of comics, with The suicide team The director brings elements of the past iteration of the franchise as part of his new vision.
Although it was troubled how / why these selected characters DCEU now appear in the DCU, Gunn apparently confirmed his strategy to address the deductible inherited as part of the fifth recently published episode of Peacemaker Season 2.
Season 2, episode 5 of the HBO HBO Max series opened its doors to the funeral of the Rick Flag Jr. of Joel Kinnaman – a character of Snydeveverse presented in both Suicide team Films that have now been brought to the DCU. Here, the brief DCU user stressed that the Kinnaman Task Force X leader is a second name different from the character’s version seen in the DCEU.
While Rick Flag Jr.’s Snyderteverse version had the second name Rogers (as confirmed by a negotiation card published in parallel with the film), his Peacemaker The Memorial of season 2 revealed that this hero’s opinion was called Bill.
This also proves the theory according to which these DCU characters are not the same versions that have appeared in the Snyreveverse. Instead, Gunn’s new interconnected cannon seems to take place in a distinct chronology / reality, with (to steal a marvel term) variants of certain DCEU characters.
The change of second name of Flag could be the first indication of the way in which Gunn will differentiate these characters inherited from the last attempt of a DC universe on the screen of their new versions.
This is a small detail that most fans will miss, but it provides enough identifiable brand for those who are ready to try to discern that it is not the same character in the previous franchise versions.
Rick Flag Jr. by Joel Kinnaman should come back later this season in PeacemakerWhile the superb superb of John Cena move to another world where everything seems too good to be true. Peacemaker Season 2 continues on HBO Max, with new episodes that hit the service on Thursday at 9 p.m. he.
Why does the DCU use DCEU characters?

Some fans have found it confident to see James Gunn present his new DCU. Although the vision of the BOSS of the DC Studios for a new DC Canon was qualified again for the franchise, he kept the door open to review certain elements of the Snyreveverse, now disappeared.
Characters like Peacemaker and Rick Flag Jr. were perfect. They arrive in the DCU with all the luggage of their adventures spent on the screen, even if these other projects are no longer considered canon.
At first, it seems that Gunn picks up and chooses what he brings to his new DC world without rhyme or reason. For this reason, no project or character of the Snyreveverse should be considered canon, but rather specific elements.
Essentially, unless it is expressly indicated by Gunn or in the DCU itself, it is not the cannon of DC (learn more about the question of the DCU / DCEU Canon here).
For example, the death of Rick Flag Jr. in the hands of the peacemaker on Corto Maltese is canon. But that does not necessarily mean each character, narrative rhythm and line of dialogue of The suicide team East.
