Jack Kesy joins `The Gun on Second Street ” by Rohit Karn in the main role

The writer, producer and director Rohit Karn Batra, The Film Compartment, announced that Jack Kesy (“Hellboy: The Croooked Man”, “Claws”, “The Strain”) joined the drama “The Gun on Second Street” as a main actor.

Guy J. Louthan de Ransom Films will produce with Batra. Rikin Shah, the member of the US Congress Eric Swalwell and the work partners of Projects Sean Penn, John Ira Palmer and John Wildermuth will be executive products. Production on the film should start in the fall.

Kesy is best known for his roles in films such as “Deadpool 2”, “12 Strong, Baywatch” and “Deathwish”, as well as television series such as “Claws” and “The Strain”. He will then be seen in the next Apple TV Heist series “12 12 12” alongside Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan.

The film is an allegory of the firearm crisis in the United States, following two Pittsburgh police partners and best friends who are called to a dispute of domestic violence without incident on second street. When the officer Tj Meadows III (Kesy) accidentally kills his partner, Kevin Cooper, he is traumatized. Years later, plus a cop, he returned to Pittsburgh and fell into the widow of Kevin, Kacie, while they both face their painful past.

“I was attracted to this role because he is a man in war with himself. I love the characters who fight against the interior demons – it’s raw and universal,” said Kesy. “When Rohit flew to Detroit in the middle of winter to make sure I was the right guy for the role, I respected him. We spent real time together, linked to our cinematographic heroes and I cut him on the script. He just clicked.”

Kesy is replaced by Paradigme and Range Media Partners.
