EVO Viewer Guide 2025: Mortal Kombat 1 | Evo

Mortal Kombat 1 returns to Evo after having made its debut in 2024. The 642 entering support resisted itself with a grand finale between Sonicfox and Nicolas. It was a very contested ensemble, descending a fifth decisive match, but Sonicfox came out in the lead, winning their seventh EVO championship, including their fifth in an NRS title and their fourth in a mortal Kombat title.

The EVO 2025 will be by far the largest Kombat 1 Mortal Tournament of the year, but there are more on the line than simple boastful rights. The winner of Mortal Kombat 1 in Evo will qualify for the final Kombat at the end of the year, the culmination of the one year circuit of the game and the circuit points will be won for the first 32. Today, we will familiarize you with players who seem ready to thrive on the biggest scene in the game.

Prepare the way

Mortal Kombat 1 added some characters since his last appearance in Evo. There is the final character of the first Kombat pack, Takeda Takahashi, as well as six characters from Kombat Pack 2: Sektor, Cyrax, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, Conan The Barbarian and T-1000.

These characters have already made their mark in the meta of the tournament. Sektor won the Gamescom Latam, controlled by the Brazilian player Ytecz, and Cyrax won the 2025 Breaker, controlled by Sonicfox. Sonicfox also used Noob SaiBot on their way to their victory at the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetion of Mexico in 2025, even if Sonic finished the tournament with Sindel. There was also more DLC representation in the top 8 of Combo Breaker: 3rd place VideoGamezyo used a ghostly alongside its usual Homelander, from 4th place Faysalkombat mainly used T-1000 alongside Shang Tsung, and 5th place Themightytyjet also made its way with T-1000.

Characters like Johnny Cage, Homelander, Reiko and Ermac are also also strong. The major EVO 2024 finals were a Johnny mirror after all. But the DLC has shaken the meta a little, and it would be a surprise if at least one of them is not present in the support.

Major scenarios

Sonicfox is the clear favorite, with victories at the MK1 PRO KOMPETION Mexico, Texas Showdown 2025 and Combo Breaker 2025 since the EVO 2024 last year. But they bleed. Sonicfox missed the top 8 for the first time at an MK1 Offline Offline in Gamescom Latam in early May, abandoning the sets on the Brazilian player Mateuzinmh and the Chilean player Scorpionprocs. They rebounded immediately with a Combo Breaker victory, showing why they are always worthy of the favorite title at the EVO 2025. A victory would push them at 8 EVO championships, which would bind them for the head of all time with Justin Wong, so it could be a great Evo for the inheritance of Sonicfox de Sonicfox

If you looked at a deadly Kombat at Evo this decade, you certainly know Nicolas. The second place of the Chilean at the EVO 2024 was its third top 3 consecutive to an EVO, going back to its 3rd place in Mortal Kombat 11 in EVO 2022. In two appearances in a major tournament from its final at the MK1 Bracket final last year. At this stage, it is prudent to expect Nicolas to be deeply in the last support. But can he go to the end this time?

ScoprionProcs, Nicolas’ twin brother, is also a better fatal player from Kombat for years, having reached the summit in 2022 with an Evo title in Mortal Kombat 11. In Mortal Kombat 1, he remained one of the strongest players in South America with incredibly consistent results. He won the Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetion of 2024: Brazil and only missed the top 8 during a major offline tournament since then. It was a ninth place to EVO 2024, and he will seek to push further and reach the last step this time.

Rewind has been one of the best NRS game players for years. He is an EVO champion, the winner of injustice 2 in Evo 2018, and he has remained strong in each NRS match since. He reached the top 8 twice in Mortal Kombat 11, ranking 7th at EVO 2023 and by doing so to Grand Finals at Evo 2022 before falling to Scorpionprocs. In MK1, he finished 7th at EVO 2024 and released solid finishes at the Breaker 2025 and CEO 2025, where he finished the 2nd and 3rd respectively. His combination of coherence and experience makes him a favorite to go deep.

Zeeus has really become one of the strongest deadly Kombat players in South America with a victory in the regional Brasil final in 2024 of MK Pro. He followed this with a 3rd place to his very first EVO a little over a month later. He has already qualified for the Kombat 2025 final thanks to his victory in the regional final of Brasil 2025, where he took the support with Havik. Can he also repeat his EVO 2024 performance, or even exceed it this year?

Onlinecale has reached an unprecedented level in 2025. The 15 -year -old son of the longtime FGC member and the online fighting player, Cale made a first beginning of competitiveness in 2024, capped by a 17th place at the EVO 2024. In 2025? He has become a favorite to go deep into any tournament medium in which he enters. Cale made a huge splash during Texas Showdown 2025, its first major of the year, with third place. But the big one came to the CEO 2025, where he used Kung Lao, Homenalder and T-1000 to win everything on Snakedoe, Rewind and Grr. Few players, so experienced, have more momentum in EVO 2025.

Can you say that Mkjaviermk is in the mortal kombat? The Spaniard finished 5th at the EVO 2024 and has since recorded numerous solid results, including the first 8 finishes at the MK1 PRO KOMPTION Mexico, VIENNNALITY2K25, and more recently, a 2nd place in Brussels Challenge Mornal Edition, a result obtained with Solo Scorpion. Can it reach the final stadium for a second consecutive year?

The improvement of Dyloch since the mortal Kombat 11 is difficult to overestimate. After 33rd place ends in each of the last two supports Evo MK11, Dyloch ranked 5th in MK1 to EVO 2024, making its first final EVO support. You could have seen him coming if you were careful throughout 2024, because he won the victories at Texas Showdown 2024 and at the CEO 2024. He remained strong in 2025, with a 2nd place in Texas Showdown 2025 and in the 8 years at the same time in Breaker and CEO.

Snakedoe is another representative of the strong deadly Chilean scene Kombat. It is relatively new in the offline competition, but he presented himself significantly during his first major offline, winning the 2game Tour Latam final. He will enter his first Evo this year, but he has all the momentum he could wish, because he has come from his best performance since, a 2nd place at the CEO 2025.

All these players and more will remove it the largest Mortal Kombat tournament of the year from August 1 in Las Vegas. Be sure to subscribe to Evo on YouTube so as not to miss any action.
