Isaac Health collects $ 10.5 million for its dementia care model led by a specialist

The startup based in New York, Isaac Health, has collected $ 10.5 million in series financing A to stimulate access to care for patients with Alzheimer’s dementia.

The financing round was led by Flare Capital Partners and other participants included B Capital, Black Opal Ventures, Industry Ventures, Meridian Street Capital and Primetime Partners, Isaac Health, launched in 2022, has now raised $ 16.3 million to date.

The company seeks to extend the country’s limited access to cognitive care, in particular in relation to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss.

“The request for care goes beyond the availability of specialists in this country – which has made a critical window miss for treatment, during which the impact of these diseases can still be minimized,” said Julius Bruch, CEO of the startup.

He noted that the Isaac Health platform – which is recently available in the 50 states – takes patients through four care phases: screening, specialized diagnosis, treatment and management of current neurocognitive care.

In the screening and diagnostic phases, patients receive a home risk assessment, which includes biomarker tests to determine the skills and lost capacities models, then they are evaluated by one of the specialist doctors of Isaac Health.

Then, Isaac Health provides coordinated care designed to improve the overall health of the patients and delay cognitive decline. This may involve the prescription of drugs, such as cholinesterase inhibitors, and it can also involve non -drug treatments such as cognitive therapy, said Bruch.

He said that Isaac Health has a team of more than 40 neurologists and other healthcare providers, some of whom are directly employed by the startup and some of whom are contract employees.

“We connect patients to a global renowned medical expert network, led by our neurologist trained in Harvard, Dr. Joel Salinas. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of neurologists, geriatricians, psychiatrists, psychotherapists and more – who all assume different roles during each phase of a patient’s trip, “said Bruch.

The target patient of the startup is an elderly person with early signs of dementia. However, apart from the elderly, Isaac Health also provides care for people in their forties and fifties, as it is a critical period during which healthy brain habits can be built. This time, it was also when the first signs of age -related memory decline generally appear, said Bruch.

Currently, the company is associated with more than 10 health plans and several health systems.

“Isaac Health is in a network with most major insurances, including Medicare. Our income is mainly supported by health plans and partly by patients, according to co-payments and franchises that apply in accordance with their policies,” said Bruch.

He added that the startup has selected more than 5,000 users on its platform.

Although there have been a certain number of companies that recently entered the dementia space, such as Rippl and Synapticure, Bruch thinks that Isaac Health is differentiating by focusing on the establishment of relationships with health plans, as well as offering a model of specialized care specialized in behavioral neurology.

“We are proud of our clinical credibility,” he said.

The startup bets that expanding access to early care led by specialists can change dementia trajectory for thousands of patients.
