Prithvi Shaw comes up against former comrades in exchange heated during the heating of the Ranji trophy

Prithvi Shaw criticized 181 superb 220 balls against Mumbai in the warm -up match.

Prithvi Shaw was at his fiery best with and without the bat in hand during the Ranji Trophy warm up. Shaw, who switched to Maharashtra faced his old team Mumbai in a warm up game before the premier domestic competition. The opener slammed a quick-fire century but was involved in a scuffle following his dismissal.

Prithvi Shaw geared up for the Ranji Trophy 2025/6 with a stunning century on Tuesday. Facing Mumbai, Shaw slammed a scintillating 181 off just 220 balls. He laced his innings with 21 fours and three sixes, in what is a statement innings.

His dismissal however led to a huge on field brawl. Musheer Khan had the Maharashtra opener dismissed and celebrated in an animated fashion. The reaction irked Shaw, who confronted the young all-rounder. The heated exchange escalated and it took the umpires to separate the two. Shaw’s former teammate Siddesh Lad was seen trying to cool the war of words as the he walked back to the pavillion.

Shaw’s career has been derailed by his reported attitude problems. He went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction and was dropped by Mumbai for disciplinary reasons. At 27, he has been handed a lifeline with Maharashtra. Shaw seems keen to repay the faith and looked fitter and in good form in the warm up.

Maharashtra will begin their Ranji Trophy campaign against Kerala on October 15. Saurashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Goa and Madhya Pradesh are among the other teams in their division.
