Behind-the-scenes recordings of Bill Belichick’s NFL Films show provide insight into Jordon Hudson’s business role with UNC coach

We have a little better idea of the role Jordon Hudson played in Bill Belichick’s professional affairs.
The “Pablo Torre Discovers Out” podcast has obtained behind-the-scenes footage from Belichick’s NFL Films 2024 show with Matt Patricia. In the footage, Hudson, Belichick’s girlfriend, asks questions about the show’s topics as well as how the graphics reflecting the coaches’ talking points are presented.
Belichick, 73, said he and Hudson, 24, had a “personal and professional” relationship. The coach said this after Hudson interrupted his interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” to say Belichick would not answer a question about their relationship.

After the CBS interview aired, Belichick said Hudson was “just doing his job to make sure the interview stayed on track” because he wanted to discuss only things that were included in the book he published this year.
During clips shown Friday morning, Hudson continued to ask questions about how the graphics looked and said she created Belichick’s website. After an argument, the on-set camera captured a conversation between the frustrated couple who may not have known it was still being recorded.
“I don’t know how they have four full-time graphic designers,” Hudson said.
“They can’t do stupid things,” Belichick said.

“RIGHT?” Hudson responded.
Torre — who said there was about 30 additional minutes of never-before-seen footage of Hudson from the CBS News interview — added that he was told that what happened onstage at Belichick’s NFL Films show last year was similar to interactions others have had with the couple.
“It’s like the first taste of the dynamic,” Torre said. “The reason I’m showing this to you, and now everyone, isn’t ‘dude, let’s cancel Jordon Hudson for his comments about graphic design and leather aesthetics,’ it’s ‘this is what the power dynamic looks like around Bill Belichick,’” Torre said.
“What she’s inadvertently showing us is, I’m told, not much different than what it is at Carolina right now. It’s what it is at every stop, including the CBS interview we saw in this preview. It’s a sort of consistent pattern that everyone who meets Belichick Productions has attested to in my reporting.”

In addition to playing a role in Belichick’s on-camera work over the past 18 months as part of the role that was created for her at Belichick Productions, Hudson has also filed trademark applications. This spring, it filed numerous trademarks and four of them – all related to rights owned by the New England Patriots – were refused.
The tension between Belichick and his former employer has been one of many storylines in North Carolina’s 2-3 start in 2025. Patriots scouts are not allowed to visit North Carolina’s facilities. As Belichick said: “It’s clear that I’m not welcome in their establishment and therefore they’re not welcome in ours. It’s pretty simple.”
The podcast episode wasn’t the first focused on Hudson’s role in North Carolina. In the spring, North Carolina disputed a report from Torre that Hudson had been banned from North Carolina facilities.
“PTFO” also pointed out that Hudson wore a collar that said “prohibited” to North Carolina’s season opener against TCU. You can clearly see the necklace in this photo from Getty Images below. North Carolina lost the game 41-10.

Additionally, the podcast exposed alleged tensions between Hudson, North Carolina general manager Michael Lombardi and Patricia, the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator and ex-Detroit Lions head coach. After spending the 2024 season out of football as Belichick, Patricia is now in charge of Ohio State’s defense. While North Carolina’s defense has been torn apart by power conference foes, Ohio State’s defense has been the best in the nation.
