Is IRON FIST coming back? Finn Jones apparently teases Iron Fist in intriguing Instagram post
The Defenders are gradually being integrated into the fold of Marvel Studios. The ball started with Spider-Man: No Way Homewhich introduced Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear into the MCU. After that, Daredevil: Born Again has directed every season of Defenders released by Netflix’s official MCU canon. The show also referred to Luc Cage in episode 2, “Optics”, with a Harlem’s Paradise sign. Marvel Studios continued to embrace the Netflix era by announcing The return of Krysten Ritter like Jessica Jones for Born again Season 2.
Additionally, Jon Bernthal is confirmed to return as the Punisher in his own right. Special presentation And Spider-Man: A Whole New Day. The only defender who seems to have been overlooked is Finn Jones’ Danny Rand. Jones was eager to reprise his superhero role, and his return has been speculated on several times in the past. Nothing has come to fruition so far, but now the actor has reignited discussions online about the return of Iron Fist.

Aside from his mystical fist, the only thing Iron Fist is known for is his mastery of martial arts. As such, Jones was likely aware of the speculation a post like this was going to spark. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Jones’ social media posts have had fans wondering if a return to the Marvel Universe is in store for him. In May, the actor posted a photo of himself with Jessica Henwick, who played Colleen Wing in iron fist And The defenders. The message was captioned “Meeting.”
Now, of course, we also can’t ignore the possibility that Jones simply shared images that remind him of his time as the Immortal Iron Fist. That said, as previously mentioned, the actor has been very vocal about his desire to join the Marvel Universe. In 2024, speaking with The Nerd Shepherd, Jones said.:
“I think I’m in a professional situation where I would like to continue to grow with this character.” He also expressed his desire to reunite with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage for a potential Heroes for Hire to show: “I would love to see the chemistry between Mike and I again. It was always fantastic. I think they’re really interesting characters to put together. If they brought Mike and I back to do a ‘Heroes For Hire’ TV series, I think that would be the right route.”
Then, in early 2025, during an appearance at the conference, Jones said. he was ready to prove himself as the Immortal Iron Fist: “[There is a lot of willingness] for fans to see this happen. The fans are also very willing to ensure that this doesn’t happen. For example, I am very aware of the criticisms of the character and my role in it. My response to that is, “Give me a fucking chance, man.” “I’m here and I’m ready, and I want to prove people wrong. And so, yeah, I would love to see that happen.”
Considering how consistently he shares his enthusiasm for the role, his Instagram Story could have realistically been a sign that he will is heading to the MCU. Jones is a talented actor and has the added benefit of looking like an Iron Fist comic. With better equipment, he has the potential to cement itself as one of the superhero genre’s greatest casts of all time.
Hopefully, we’ll have an answer to the speculation surrounding his character when Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 arrives on March 4, 2026.
