Andrew Cuomo calls Mamdani to leave his apartment

The former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo (D), called for the rich candidate for the town hall of the New York town hall, Zohran Mamdani, to “move” from his apartment stabilized in the rent, noting that someone else probably needs it.

In a job On X, Cuomo stressed that Mamdani and his wife are rich, have had weddings on three continents, and that together, they “probably earn much more than $ 200,000”. Cuomo added that although Mamdani is a “rich person”, he and his wife pay $ 2,300 a month for an apartment in Astoria, who “should be accommodation for someone who needs it”.

The Cuomo post included a video of a primary debate at the Democrat mayor in which Mamdani shared that he paid $ 2,300 for a room in Astoria. During the debate, Cuomo, who launched an independent race to be the next mayor of New York, revealed that he had paid $ 7,800.

“Somewhere last night in New York, a single mother and her children slept in a shelter for homeless because you, assembled, @zohrankmamdani, occupy her rent apartment,” wrote Cuomo. ” You grew up rich and married an even richer woman. You have had weddings on 3 continents. You have a property in LGTBQIA + Uganda Member. You earn $ 142,000 per year plus allowances, and your wife is also working, which means that you probably earn much more than $ 200,000. No matter how you cut it: Zohran Mamdani is a rich person. You are actually very rich.

“However, you and your wife pay $ 2,300 per month, as you boasted, for a beautiful apartment in Astoria,” Cuomo continued. “It should be accommodation for someone who needs it. We are in the middle of a historic accessibility crisis. Millions of low-income New Yorkers need this apartment and an apartment like this. However, your apartment remains rented to rich who do not need it. ”

“Today, I call you to move immediately and make your accommodation affordable to a homeless family that needs it,” Cuomo continued. “Managers must show moral clarity. It’s time to move. “

Cuomo’s comments came in response to another article sharing the comments that Mamdani made during an interview in February with the New York editorial committee. During the interview, Mamdani confirmed that he lived in “stabilized rent housing”.

When he was asked if he needed a freeze gel, Mamdani said that if he was “capable of geling rents”, he would not live in a stabilized rent apartment, but rather “in the upper East Side, in a new apartment”.

“I think for which we should fight, it is the vast majority of people who live in these apartments,” said Mamdani during the interview. “If I could put a freeze of rents, I would not be in a stabilized rent apartment. I would actually be in the Upper East Side, in a new apartment.”

Mamdani continued to explain when he moved into his apartment, he won $ 47,000 a year and “worked as a housing advisor for foreclosure prevention for Chhaya CDC in Richmond Hill and Jackson Heights”, adding that he had looked for an apartment he “could afford” alone.

“I found that in this apartment,” continued Mamdani: “I did not know that he was stabilized in the rent. I found him via Streeteasy. At that time since, I became a member of the assembly and I am now able to pay for this apartment and also get out of this apartment and I plan to do so. I do not plan to live in this apartment for perpetuity.”

Paul Bois de Breitbart News previously pointed out that Mamdani is the “son of the Indian Fino-American rendering Mira Nair” and that he “grew up around the privilege”.

The son of the acclaimed Indo-American director Mira Nair (Salaam Bombay,, Monsoon wedding), Mamdani grew up around the privilege and made great efforts to hide it. In some cases, Mamdani has used false accents depending on the group of people to which it is addressed.

City and State New York reported in April 2023 that Mamdani, whose father is Mahmood Mamdani, “an eminent Marxist scholarship holder at Columbia University” spent “part of his childhood” on film sets.

Breitbart News previously reported that, even if Mamdani fled with the illustrator Rama Duwaji in February, they “went to Uganda for the celebration of the private compound of the Mamdani family”.
