New Delhi: After consultations with the government, security agencies and all key stakeholders, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to resume the rest of the Indian League (IPL) 2025 from May 17. All matches will be played in six designated sites.The season will restart at Mr. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on May 17, with Bengaluru royal challengers confronted with Kolkata Knight Riders. The tournament had been suspended for a week after increased cross -border tensions between India and Pakistan, during which Pakistan launched missiles and drones that were successfully intercepted by Indian forces.As part of the revised calendar, no match will take place in Mohali or Dharamsala. The Punjab Kings match against the Mumbai Indians, who has already been transferred to Ahmedabad, will now take place at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur on May 26.The IPL 2025 final will be played on June 3, the playoffs starting on May 29. The sites of the playoff matches will be announced later.“The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the resumption of the Tata IPL 2025. After numerous consultations with the government and the security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the council decided to proceed to the rest of the season.
“A total of 17 games will be played on six sites, from May 17, 2025, and ending in the final on June 3, 2025. The revised calendar includes two double heads, which will be played on Sunday,” said the BCCI in its release on Monday.According to the updated plan, the qualifier 1 will be played on May 29, followed by the eliminator on May 30. The qualifier 2 is scheduled for June 1, the final to be held on June 3.
