Iowa State Fair ticket sales begin Friday morning
PAVLIK IS STILL FACING SEVERAL CHARGES IN STATE COURT. TONIGHT THE IOWA STATE FAIR WARNING ABOUT GRAND TICKET SCAMS. KCCI BEAU BOWMAN TALKED TO PEOPLE AT THE FAIR ABOUT IT, BUT WE HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO UNTIL THE FAIR OPENS, AND THEY’RE ALREADY SEEING A LOT OF INTEREST IN THIS YEAR’S GRANDSTAND PROCEEDINGS. YEAH. STACY, 244 DAYS UNTIL THE DOORS OPEN TO THE 2026 IOWA STATE FAIR. And even though they just announced the first two acts in the grandstand, it’s important to know that tickets don’t go on sale until tomorrow. THE IOWA STATE FAIR SEEMS LIKE A LONG ROAD, BUT IN AUGUST THE GRANDSTAND WILL TRADE IN SNOW TALES AGAINST LINES OF PEOPLE WAITING TO ATTEND CONCERTS FOR 11 BUSINESS NIGHTS, AND THE FIRST TWO ACTS WERE ANNOUNCED ON WEDNESDAY. A LOT OF HARD WORK IS ASSOCIATED WITH PLANNING AND BOOKING THESE GRANDSTAND SHOWS. FAIR CEO JEREMY PARSONS WILL HOST ROCK ICON ROD STEWART AND 2025 ARTIST OF THE YEAR LAINEY WILSON TO DES MOINES ON AUGUST 14 AND 16 RESPECTIVELY. TICKET SALE STARTS LIVE FRIDAY MORNING AT 10:00 AM. PARSONS warns against purchasing tickets from a third party before this. For those of you who have already purchased tickets, you have essentially given your money to someone hoping they will buy a ticket because no one, no one at this point has a ticket. HE SAYS THAT ANYONE SELLING TICKETS BEFORE THE OFFICIAL RELEASE COULD ALSO BE A SCAM, AND THAT CONCERTS SHOULD CHECK PRICES BEFORE CLICKING TO BUY THE MOST EXPENSIVE TICKET THIS YEAR IS $134.50, THAT’S WHY HE SAYS YOU SHOULD ONLY BUY FROM THE WEBSITE FAIR. THE REALITY IS, IF YOU PAY MORE THAN $135 FOR A TICKET AT THE GRANDSTAND, YOU DID NOT PURCHASE THAT TICKET AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR. YOU PURCHASED IT THROUGH A THIRD PARTY COMPANY WHO, VERY FRANKLY, THURSDAY DOES NOT HAVE THESE TICKETS EITHER. AGAIN, TICKETS FOR LAINEY WILSON AND ROD STEWART ARE ON SALE TOMORROW MORNING AT 10:00 AM. THE WEBSITE IS IOWA STATE FAIR.ORG. Pennsylvania
The Iowa State Fair warned Thursday against purchasing grandstand tickets from third-party sellers after announcing the first two headliners for the 2026 concert series: Rod Stewart on Aug. 14 and Lainey Wilson on Aug. 16. “For those of you who may have already purchased tickets, you’ve basically given your money to someone hoping they’ll buy a ticket because no one, no one at this point, has a ticket.” He also urged buyers to check prices and purchase only from the fair’s website; the most expensive ticket this year is $134.50. “The reality is if you pay more than $135 for a grandstand ticket, you haven’t purchased through the Iowa State Fair,” he said. “You purchased this through a third party who, frankly, Thursday doesn’t have these tickets either.” Parsons said additional show announcements would be released shortly after the start of the new year.
