Newcastle is desperate for signatures, having only done one until now this summer. Fortunately, the number two seems to be on the way, despite a number of losses in recent weeks.
On the expected departure of Alexander Isak, Newcastle wants to sign a new attacker to compete for the departure place. And after missing Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike in recent weeks, they have turned their attention to Yoane Wissa.
Unlike the previous targets of the club, Wissa is desperate to join Newcastle, and during the weekend, he went on strike in the hope of forcing a move. For the moment, Brentford has not moved, although they are expected to do so.
Yoane Wissa is likely to finish Newcastle Move
According to football initiate, Mick Brown has revealed that Newcastle should conclude an agreement for Wissa in the coming weeks, now that Brentford’s hand has been forced.
“I expect them to reach an agreement at some point. He clearly indicated that he wanted to leave, he told Brentford that and he refused to train, so Brentford must decide if they wanted an unhappy player at the club. In most cases, in this situation, the club will decide that they can leave it.
“I think Bryan Mbeumo played it perfectly, because if this move did not occur, he could have stayed in Brentford without any problem with the club or the fans. Wissa did not do this, he burned his bridges and made it a difficult situation.
“For the moment, Newcastle does not want to pay what Brentford asks. I think the price will drop later in the window and Newcastle may have to go up a little so that they can meet in the middle.
“So, at this stage, there is no agreement, but it forces this decision makes a huge difference. Now it will be in Newcastle’s hands because it is how ready they are paying.”
Wissa, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season, would be an excellent addition to a team for Newcastle, but for the moment, it remains to be seen if they can conclude an agreement with Brentford.
