Indonesian volcano Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki spits a cloud of massive ash as it bursts again

Mount Lewotobi Laki -Laki in Indonesia started to break out – at some point, pulling a cloud of ashes at 18 km (11 miles) in the sky – while the residents fled once again.
There has been no victims’ report since Monday morning, when the volcano on the island of Flores started spitting ashes and lava. The authorities have placed it at the highest alert level since a first series of eruptions three weeks ago.
At least 24 flights to and from the neighboring vacation island near Bali were canceled on Monday, although some resumed on Tuesday.
The initial column of hot clouds that increased at 11:05 am (03:05 GMT) on Monday was the highest in the volcano since November, said the chief of the geology agency Muhammad Wafid.
“An eruption of this size certainly has a higher potential of danger, including its impact on aviation,” Wafid told the Associated Press.
The eruption on Monday, accompanied by a thunderous roar, led the authorities to widen the exclusion zone to a radius of 7 km from the central vent. They also warned against the potential floods of Lahar – a type of mud or flow rate of volcanic materials – in case of heavy rain.
The Double Double volcano broke out again at 7:30 p.m. Monday, sending ash and lava clouds up to 13 km in the air. He broke out a third time at 5:53 a.m. on reduced intensity.
The videos shared the night of the night, a brilliant red lava that springs from the summits of the volcano while the residents put themselves in the cars and the buses to flee.
Until now, more than 4,000 people have been evacuated from the region, according to the Local Disaster Management Agency.
Residents who have remained in place are faced with a shortage of water, food and masks, according to local authorities.
“While the eruption continues, with several secondary explosions and ash clouds drifting west and north, the affected communities which have not been moved … require targeted emergency intervention efforts,” said Paulus Sony Sang Tukan, which leads the village of Pulule, about 8 km from Lewotobi Laki-Laki.
“Water is still available, but there are concerns about its cleanliness and if it has been contaminated, because our entire area was covered with thick volcanic ash on yesterday [eruptions]”He said.
Indonesia is on the Pacific “fire ring” where tectonic plates collide, causing frequent volcanic activity as well as earthquakes.
Lewotobi Laki -Laki broke out several times this year – no victim has been reported so far.
However, an eruption last November killed at least 10 people and forced thousands of people to flee.
