Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Jack Draper withdrew from Toronto

Toronto – The Wimbledon champion, Jannik Sinner, the winner of the Title du Grand Chelem at 24 times, Novak Djokovic and No. 5, Jack Draper, all withdrew from the Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto which begins in a week, citing injuries.

The sinner No. 1 cited his injured right elbow, which he injured during a fall in the fourth round at the All England Club on the path of his first title and the fourth major trophy.

He won his first Masters 1000 title in Toronto in 2023.

“Winning this title in Toronto two years ago was the start of a really special moment for me, but after talking with my team, I have to recover,” said Sinner.

Djokovic blamed a groin injury for his withdrawal from an event he has won four times. He lost against the sinner in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Draper will miss Toronto and the Masters of Cincinnati next month because of a problem with his left arm, which means that he will not play in a hard terrain adjustment tournament before the start of August 24.

“After Wimbledon, I took an injury in my left arm, nothing serious, but I have to make sure that it is completely recovered for the rest of the season,” said draper on social networks. “Unfortunately, I will not be able to compete in Toronto and Cincinnati … in NYC!”
