Protecting the crown jewels in Pilates classes | Pilates

As the (often) only male participant in Pilates classes, I wonder if the reason “Pilates and the male psyche don’t seem to connect” (Letters, October 19) is that the language is aimed at women and their anatomy. On more than one occasion, when I clearly didn’t know which part of myself I should focus on, instructors whispered “crown jewels” in my ear.

The double-height garden room is superb (spa ambiance with grow-your-own-dinner option: Britain’s best new building is a renovated hospice, October 16). I hope external blinds or shutters have been incorporated, given the predicted global temperature rise of 2°C. I found the renovation to be a real headache.

I wish a reporter would ask Donald Trump, “Mr. President, if the United States were invaded, how many states would you abandon to achieve peace?” » (Trump suggests dividing Ukraine’s Donbass region to end the war after his meeting with Zelenskyy on October 20).
