India resumed their chase on the fifth day at 63-1 and needed just an hour to reach the target, although West Indies snatched two wickets thanks to some exceptional catches.

Gill relishes first series victory

Indian Captain Shubman Gill: “Being captain is a very big honor, I would say I’m getting used to it.

“Managing all the players and leading this team is a great honor. It’s about taking the right options depending on the game situations and I try to choose the one with the best probability.”

Positive points in the defeat of the West Indies

West Indies Captain Roston Chase: “The positive for us in this match was that Campbell and Hope played well and scored hundreds.

“We bowled 100 overs for the first time in a long time and took the match to a fifth day. We were trying to find ways to bat 80 overs and came up with ideas to play spin.
