Bayern star Davies surprises with visit to amateur club Dachau

It’s no news that Alphonso Davies enjoys watching basketball in his free time. Today, the Bayern star even had his photo taken at an amateur club.
Munich – When Alphonso Davies is not playing football, he likes to spend his time in the basketball halls. In the SAP Arena, where the FC Bayern Munich basketball players play their home matches, the Canadian left-back is regularly one of the distinguished guests. But it’s not just the glitz and glamor that draws Davies to the room.
Today, the FC Bayern Munich star caused a surprise by visiting an amateur club in the northwest of Munich. After the German champions’ brilliant 6-2 victory over SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga, Davies traveled to TSV 1865 Dachau to the enthusiasm of the players and spectators in attendance.

The Canadian apparently followed the appearance of a friend among the guests during the match between the second team Dachau Spurs and TSV Milbertshofen 3 in the West district class. The prominent air in the room also bore sporting fruits: the Bundesliga professional apparently brought luck to his colleague in Milbertshofen’s 60:72 victory. After the match, Davies patiently accepted requests for photos and autographs from some spectators.
Davies’ down-to-earth demeanor should earn him extra credit with many fans. FC Bayern fans are eagerly awaiting the return to action of the 25-year-old, who has been forced to take a break since March this year due to a torn cruciate ligament. After all: Davies recently returned to team training for the German record champions and thus took a big step towards a comeback.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany hopes for his protégé’s return this year. It was only this weekend that the Belgian was pleased with his lightning-fast full-back’s training progress. “It seems like he can’t get tired at all. It’s not normal when you come back after such a long injury,” Kompany said happily. Davies’ recovery could also help balance things out in amateur basketball… (mbo)
