Improve your game with Pokémon GO’s new upgrade system

SStarting October 15, 2025, Trainers will be able to take their adventure to greater heights in Pokémon GO with an increase in the level cap from 50 to 80. With the new leveling system, Trainers will level up more frequently and receive rewards along the way. When the updated system goes into effect, all trainers level 23 or higher will gain at least one level. XP requirements to reach the next level may change. Additionally, the higher-level research tasks previously required to progress from levels 41 to 50 will be replaced with higher-level research tasks between levels 71 and 80. At level 70 and above, trainers will have a higher chance of becoming lucky friends with other trainers once they become best friends.

The amount of XP required to level up has changed with the new system. Here is the total The amount of XP trainers will need to reach certain levels.

  • Level 10: 48,000 XP

  • Level 20: 258,000 XP

  • Level 30: 1,083,000 XP

  • Level 40: 3,953,000 XP

  • Level 50: 12,753,000 XP

  • Level 60: 34,353,000 XP

  • Level 70: 85,853,000 XP

  • Level 80: 203,353,000 XP

Starting at level 25, trainers will receive great avatar rewards if they reach subsequent levels. If Trainers have already completed these levels, they will automatically receive the rewards.

  • Level 25: Poké Ball Cap

  • Level 30: Poké Ball Shoes

  • Level 35: Poké Ball Jacket

  • Level 40: Large cap

  • Level 45: Large Ball Shoes

  • Level 50: Large Ball Jacket

  • Level 55: Ultra Cap

In addition to making your avatar glow, other rewards for leveling up include increased storage for Pokémon, items, gifts, and postcards. As with avatar items, if a trainer has already passed these levels, they will automatically receive these rewards.

When trainers of level 15 and above log in each day, a daily adventure egg will automatically be placed in a special incubator. After exploring 1 km with the Daily Adventure Egg, a Pokémon will hatch and the Trainer will receive 10,000 XP. Trainers can only have one Daily Adventure Egg at a time, and that egg will not count toward their egg storage.
