Ibrox positive talks with the 4-3-3 manager to replace Martin

The Glasgow Rangers had positive talks with Ibrox with an important goal of the Gers manager to replace Russell Martin.

In Europe, other names have also been mentioned to replace Martin. Dutch coach Mark Van Bommel is another “interested” by replacing Martin, while Spanish coach Quique Setien is also on the Gers radar after leaving Beijing Guoan.

One of the “fans’ favorites” and one of the main targets of the Rangers is however the former boss of Ibrox, Steven Gerrard, and there has now been a positive development concerning the return to Glasgow of the former title winner.

It was declared on Monday that the discussions were going to continue and that the negotiations were complex, but the ball seems to be launched when it comes to a return to Glasgow for the 45 -year -old man.

Gerrard, who plays an offensive system 4-3-3, collected an average of 2.15 points per game in his 192 matches at the head of the Rangers between 2018 and 2021, winning the first Scottish in 2020.

“We had a wonderful time there. We really enjoyed our stay there. Steven did an incredible job to win this 55th title.

“He will always be linked to the Glasgow Rangers, he loved his stay there. You never know what can happen.”

The Rangers seem ready to take their time when the fourth manager of 2025 due to the current international break, but at first glance, a return to Ibrox for Gerrard is a real possibility.
