Ian Wright urges Arsenal to sign “top” 42 million pounds sterling after alleged discussions

It is not a secret for anyone that Arsenal is actively on the market for a new attack player or two for Mikel Arteta this summer, the Gunners have now urged to take a step for a highly rated attacker who would be on the list of Andrea Berta.

Arsenal targeting a new winger with “many talks” held

The long lack of injury by Bukayo Saka in the middle of 2024/2025, combined with an uncertainty surrounding the long -term future of Leandro Trossard, apparently pushed Arsenal to consider the signature of a winger.

The Gunners were in contact this week.

The Belgian is about to enter the last 12 months of his contract in northern London, and there are even suggestions that Arsenal would also entertain appropriate offers for Gabriel Martinelli, which is evaluated at around 50 million pounds sterling, so that the wide options of Arteta can be slightly different when we reach 2025/2026.

In terms of potential creations, talks were held on an agreement for the striker of Real Madrid, Rodrygo, who is considered to be the “dream signature” by Arsenal to this position, but negotiations are complicated due to wage demands (Florian Prettenberg).

That said, Rodrygo is in no way their only option, Berta holding “many talks” on many targets, including the star of Atalanta Ademola Lookman.

The Nigerian would be assessed at around 42 million pounds sterling, which could prove to be a good deal given his exploits in Serie A in the last two seasons.

The devastating performance of Lookman in the final of the Europa 2024 League ended the historic race of Bayer Leverkusen, and he managed to score 20 goals in all competitions for Atalanta during the season.

Speaking on Wrighty’s House’s podcast this week, the N5 icon expressed his admiration for the journey of Lookman up, marking a “best”.

Wright also urged Arsenal to sign Lookman before the start of next season, explaining exactly why he thinks that the African would do an excellent work under Arteta.

“I’m going to go with Ademola Lookman winning the African player of the year with regard to this man’s trip,” said Wright.

“I remember him from Charlton, it did not work, 10 million pounds sterling in Everton, then by moving everywhere, the trip of the loan to this, then I think it is one of the most devastating performances that I saw in the final with this triple that he marked.

“I hope we can buy it, Arsenal. I would like someone like him back in the Premier League and say: “Listen, I have unfinished business here, so I will help Arsenal win the League”.

“But I just admire his trip, and now he is rightly recognized as a better player, incredible.”
