Ian McKellen Comedy ‘Frank and Percy’ goes to production

EXCLUSIVE: The distribution of Kaleidoscope films has acquired global sales rights to Frank and PercyA comedy film with Ian McKellen and Roger Allam, which begins production this month.

The film is adapted from the western play of the same name, which also featured McKellen and Allam. The story follows two older men who meet while walking their dogs on Hampstead Heath. Which starts as an occasional conversation on the weather and the painful hips are gradually deepening in an unexpected friendship – and perhaps something more. Funny and ephemeral sheet, Frank and Percy are a sincere and sincere story about the courage to take their chance at any age.

The casting of the film also presents Stephen Fry (Gosford Park), Jessica Gunning (Pride), Dame Joanna Lumley (Wall Street Wolf), Winner of choice, Derek Jacobi (Gosford Park), Ncuti gatwa (Barbie), and Siasân Phillips (1, Claudius).

Frank and Percy is written by Martin Sherman (Ms. Henderson presents) and will be led by Sean Mathias (Curve).

The project is funded by John Gore Studios and BK Studios, with John Gore, David Gilbery and Naomi George as producers. Executive producers include Hilary Strong and Jamie Anderson for John Gore Studios, alongside Louis Santor and Karl Sydow.

Icon Film Distribution will release the film in theaters in the United Kingdom, and KFD will present the title to international buyers at the next TIFF.
