Although the keyboard integrated on most Android smartphones is sufficient for entry, there are many third -party keyboards that offer exciting features to improve your typing experience. I tested some of the best Android keyboards, but none seems better than Microsoft Swiftkey.
Most Android keyboards have a big defect
When you are looking for the term “keyboard” On Google Play Store, you will be presented with hundreds of different keyboards that you can install on your device. You will find keyboards specific to the language, keyboards dedicated to emoji and even keyboards whose main sale argument is their LED lighting. However, I tested keyboards that are actually reliable and popular among users. These include Heliboard, the typewriter, the simple keyboard and, of course, Gbord.
Helionoard is an open source keyboard that does not require an internet connection to work. Although the keyboard offers many personalization options, there are a few bugs that must be treated.
For example, during my tests, I noticed that each time I open the symbol menu, then press the space bar, the keyboard automatically returns to QWERTY mode. In addition, the typing of gestures, one of the features that I use the most on any keyboard, is not activated by default on Heliboard; You must load it via the scanning library.
Typewise is another popular keyboard with over a million downloads on the Google Play Store. However, I care about this is that most of its features are behind a paid wall. For example, you need to buy their premium plan even to use basic keyboard features such as tapping sound.
The simple keyboard, as its name suggests, is designed for users who want a very simple keyboard. However, I think the keyboard is “too” simple, because it does not even include emojis, which are one of the most fundamental features of any Android keyboard.
Finally, let’s talk about Gboard. Honestly, Gboard and Microsoft Swiftkey are very similar. In fact, if for any reason, Microsoft Swiftkey stops working, I will immediately go to Gbord without a second reflection.
However, if I have to put a problem with Gbord, it would be that its scanning functionality is not as good as that of Microsoft Swiftkey. Apart from that, it is really difficult to find a demerit of Gboard on Swiftkey. I just recommend Gbord Over Swiftkey as personal choice; Otherwise, Swiftkey is also a good option.

Why I prefer Microsoft Swiftkey to other Android keyboards
I have been using the Microsoft Swiftkey keyboard since 2019, when I obtained my first Android smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 5. Another feature that improves typing speed is Swiftkey Flow, which allows you to slide from a letter to the letter to type a word.
Swiftkey also supports more than 700 languages, and you can type up to five languages without the need to change parameters. The keyboard also includes an integrated translator that you can use to convert text to any other language.
In addition, if you want more writing assistance, you can take advantage of Microsoft Copilot, which is integrated into the keyboard. Once you have written your paragraph, press the Microsoft Copilot icon which appears at the top of the keyboard, and you will be presented with various suggestions related to grammar in the Microsoft Editor tab. Copilot also allows you to change the tone of your sentences.
If you are like me and you prefer the vocal shot on manual typing, the Microsoft keyboard allows you to use both vocal typing and manual typing simultaneously. Besides all this, Microsoft Swiftkey offers many personalization options. There are hundreds of themes to choose, and you can also design your own personalized theme.
You can change the Emoji font between the latest Emoji style from Google and the default emoji style offered by your Android smartphone.
I highly recommend spending time in the Microsoft Swiftkey Microsoft Settings section. Here you can customize most aspects of keyboard feature. You can configure whether the keyboard must automatically capitalize letters after punctuation, manage automatic correction settings and much more.

Is there a problem with Microsoft Swiftkey?
As mentioned earlier, I have been using Microsoft Swiftkey for some time. There have been many bugs and problems with the keyboard from time to time, but fortunately, they were resolved very quickly. However, the synchronization problem has persisted for over a year now, and unfortunately, there is still no solution available.
It turns out that Microsoft Swiftkey offers a cloud keyboard function which, in my opinion, could be the best -selling argument on the keyboard – if only it starts to work. When this function is activated, you can copy and paste text between your phone and your Windows device. In simple terms, if you copy text to your Windows device, Swiftkey will display this text copied at the top of the keyboard, allowing you to use it on your smartphone. However, for any reason, the functionality does not work at all. In fact, the Microsoft support page which describes how to use the functionality has not been updated for some time and always displays the process for Windows 10. Most likely, Microsoft has ceased to support this functionality. If this is the case, it would be preferable for Microsoft to remove the SYNC Cloud from Swiftkey. If they still support it, they must repair it as soon as possible.
The next major problem with Microsoft Swiftkey is that it collects your data. Interestingly, many other keyboards, such as Gboard and Grammarly, have the same problem. Fortunately, it is possible to prevent Microsoft from collecting your typing data. To do this, open Microsoft SwiftKey, press the “Privacy” option and deactivate the tips to “help Microsoft improve” and “Share data customization”. In the event that confidentiality is your main concern, you can go to a keyboard focused on confidentiality.
