“I quickly walked the dog at halftime and what happened ffs”

Edwin van der Sar and Bastian Schweinsteiger were left perplexed after Manchester United played out a 4-4 draw with Bournemouth on Monday.
Manchester United took the lead three times and thought they had won the match when they scored twice in two minutes to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 advantage. But they were pegged back by an Eli Kroupi goal six minutes from time, forcing both teams to settle for a share of the spoils.
Thanks for the submission!
The competition, played at Old Trafford, has been widely regarded as one of the most notable matches of the 2025/26 Premier League season so far. It is currently the second highest-scoring game in the league after Manchester City’s 5-4 victory over Fulham earlier this month.
Former United players Van der Sar and Schweinsteiger enjoyed the match from the fans’ neutral perspective and were stunned by the scoreline.
Van der Sar wrote on his nickname X:
“I quickly walked the dog at half-time and what happened in Manchester?
Schweinsteiger shared a screenshot of the match at 4-4 in the 89th minute, which included a photo of him in the foreground putting his hand to his forehead to express his shock.
“What a crazy match 🤯,” he captioned the post.
Bournemouth are the first team in top-flight history to score 3+ goals in three consecutive away games at Manchester United after a 4-4 draw in Monday’s clash. The Cherries won a famous 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on December 9, 2023 and repeated the same scoreline on December 22, 2024.
Bournemouth boss names two Manchester United stars who ‘punished them a lot’ in 4-4 draw
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola singled out Manchester United forwards Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo after a 4-4 draw. He admitted that both men caused his team major problems throughout the match. Diallo, who played the full 90 minutes, opened the scoring, and Mbeumo also had a pretty impressive game.
“Really hard to explain,” Iraola told reporters after the draw. “There were times when you wanted the game to end to take a point but we came very close to scoring and maybe it’s better that it ended, lots of ups and downs. United were much better the first 20 minutes until we went 1-1 finishing the first half strong and conceding that second goal. Happy apart from the first 20 minutes where they started better.
“They punished us a lot, especially with Amad and Mbeumo. Alex Jimenez played very well, defending with Amad almost like a fullback, but all the clashes were good for us.”
The result allowed both teams to improve their position in the standings. United jumped one place from seventh to sixth, while the Cherries moved from 15th to 13th.
