Since Liam Neeson demonstrated his “very special skills” set ” Taken In 2008, Hollywood pumped a constant flow of films on apparently harmless guys take revenge for those who have done them wrong. But nobody did it as ContentThat you really have to catch before it disappears from Netflix on September 11.
The very ordinary guy in this case is Aatami Korpi (played by Jorma Tommila), whom we first meet in search of gold in Lapland on the banks of the Second World War, with anyone other than his dog and his horse for company.
There are still signs that war is not entirely over. A squadron of planes flies on the Aatami camp at dusk; The sky is lit by a bombardment on the horizon; And, having struck the 24 -carat jackpot with his faithful ax, he passed a convoy heavily armed with Nazis while he heads for the nearest city to take his treasure.
This part of northern Finland generally evokes images of deep snow, teams of Huskies pulling sleds through dense forests and reindeer taking a well -deserved rest of their December functions; But here, Lapland is a sparse and empty desert that has an almost out of the world, especially if you look in 4K and Dolby Vision.
The only sign of Rudolph and Co is a skeleton with these revealing woods always attached – a frightening sample of death and destruction that is to come.
At the beginning, it seems that the retired soldiers are ready to leave the old man and his four -legged companions alone, but after a meeting further on the road which leaves a group of Nazis regretting a lot of their decision to play with a seemingly helpless prospector, Aatami finds himself continuing by a commander of a sadistic reservoir and his men.
ContentAs explained by the film’s title card, is a Finnish word which cannot be directly translated into English, but freely refers to a sort of courage and resilience deeply which is only summoned by extreme adversity – and for the rest of the film, that’s exactly what Aatami does.
There are times here that would finish Wile E. Coyote, but Aatami manages to raise them with the casual DIY piece, the scars of his body suggesting that this is not his first meeting with a bunch of ruthless killers.
The Foley department of the film had to be first name with the local butcher when they finished recording the sound effects for ContentThis is the quantity of flesh that is stabbed, drawn, exploded and beaten with makeshift joints during the 91 -minute execution of the film.

In fact, if you look in 5.1 sound surround, you will want one of the best bars in his or the best surround systems will do justice to the traces of roar tanks, exploding land mines and cold winds that whistle through the Nordic plains.
In terms of dialogue, however, there is very little (and the majority is in English, so don’t worry if you hate the subtitles). Aatami never gives a mission statement in the way Neeson Taken. In fact, he never says much at all, leaving his practically superhuman reserves to speak instead.
The final piece will certainly be a suspension of disbelief too far for some (even Impossible missionEthan Hunt would probably consider it improbable), but if you treat Content As a kind of post-war Finnish folk tale, where the truth is linked to exaggeration and embellishments, it is a slice of Nazi basin.
And when Aatami finally speaks, it is to deliver a punchline so perfect that if you had taken Content Completely seriously, the joke would really be upon you.
The last day you have to watch Content On Netflix, it’s September 10, but if you miss it, it is also available to rent or buy in 4K on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video and Rakuten TV, or on Ultra HD Blu-ray.
