The Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, would have progressed to a loan transfer to Barcelona.
The English international fell in disgrace to Man Utd since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik Ten Hag as a manager, but he had already shown signs of losing his best form before that.
Rashford then spent the second half of last season in Aston Villa, and although he did not end up joining them permanently, he never seemed likely that he would be back in the team’s photo with United.
Now, it seems that Rashford is getting closer to a loan move to Barça, according to David Ornstein from The Athletic in the post on X below…

The transfer of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona surely means an end to Luis Diaz Pursuit
Liverpool fans will probably be satisfied with this news because it means that Barcelona will no longer try to sign Luis Diaz.
See below as Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Diaz was targeted by Barcelona and Bayern Munich, who was to try again for the Colombian international…

Diaz was perhaps a more difficult target, however, and therefore Barcelona ended up going to Rashford instead, with an united without surprise happy to let him go.
Diaz should in theory still have a key role to play in Liverpool, so although it would have been a better option for Barcelona, it would also have been a more difficult affair to conclude.
Can Rashford relaunch his career at Barça?
Rashford showed some signs to return to his best during his brief visit to Villa Park, but it was not enough to convince Unai Emery to keep it permanently.
In truth, it is very difficult to imagine now that Rashford has much more to offer at the highest level, so it looks like a barcelona bet.
It’s just a loan, however, so the Catalan giants may may have a decent enough affair to give them the depth of the team for a season.
