Hulk Hogan, the wrestling icon larger than life including the handlebar mustache and red and yellow badges have defined a generation of sporting entertainment, takes off the curtain in “My life outside the ring”. The 2009 thesis returned to the list of bestsellers after the death of the wrestler last week.

Released by St. Martin’s Press, and co-written by Mark Dagostino, the book offers an unwavered overview of Hogan’s personal implosion in the mid-2000s-a period marked by the detangling of his 23-year-old wedding, the almost fatal car of the car involving his adolescent son and a very advertising spiral which took place through tabloid covers and reality Tabloid.
Although Hogan – born Terry Bollea – has already written about his career, this volume is distance from the Kayfabe bomb of his previous autobiography. Here, the script is stripped. He tells with surprising details when he saw the crushed sports car of his son Nick and the existential calculation that followed. He reflects on his own mistakes with an unusual franchise, including an almost suicidal fight with depression and the assessment of living a life built on performance.
This does not mean that Hogan is completely divorcing the theater of professional struggle. The memory is always punctuated by references to its celebrity of WWE, the triumphs of Wrestlemania and the behind the scenes which have shaped the golden era of sports entertainment.
The icon and struggle died last Thursday at the age of 71. According to the Clearwater police service in Florida, Hogan died due to cardiac arrest.
