Hurkacz, a former world number 6, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in 2025 and, following recovery and rehabilitation, returned to action at this year’s United Cup. The 28-year-old Pole has impressed at the annual international mixed team tennis event so far, notably beating world number 3 Alexander Zverev in Poland’s 3-0 win over Germany earlier in the Round Robin stage.
