Tom Brady welcomed by hoots at Indy 500: Colts fans still hold a grudge
The largest quarter of all time, Tom Brady, was mercilessly hué at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before Indy 500 on Sunday.
Doesn’t he have enough time, colt fans?
Brady had a 16-4 file against the colts throughout his career, including a 4-1 file against Indianapolis in the playoffs. During the Peyton Manning era, the Colts were unable to go ahead of the New England Patriots in Brady during the 2003 AFC championship match and the 2004 AFC divisional tour. The only Victoire in Indy eliminatory series against Brady occurred in the 2007 AFC championship match. The Manning Colts won the Super Bowl. They obtained their redemption – but clearly, the fans have never forgotten.
But these days are over. They were finished. It has been more than a decade that the patriots and the colts met during the NFL qualifiers.
However, fans have not forgotten – or forgiven – Brady for his longevity and domination.
The Patriots finish their reconstruction with the quarter Drake Maye and the new head coach Mike Trébel. The colts have had their share of quarter experiences since Manning has left for the Broncos de Denver, including a race with Andrew Luck which ended prematurely, a carousel of QB of Bridge, and now Anthony Richardson.
Alex Palou won his first Indy 500 on Sunday, becoming the first Spanish driver to win the event. The history of sport has been made. Elsewhere in Indianapolis, the Pacers abandoned match 4 of the Eastern Conference final at the New York Knicks on Sunday evening. Ironically, the pacers are 0-4 all time in the matches played the same day as the Indy 500.
But online? Everyone always talks about Brady.
The NFL is king. But racing fans are not a joke.
Fox trotting Brady in a combination of brand sheet for the cover of the race – in one of its many rival cities – was the movement of Ultimate Troll. He also participated in a first round of ceremony with Jimmie Johnson before the race. How could Indiana fans react differently?
Brady took the hoots in stride, smiling and waving the crowd that hated him so much.
Manning and Brady both create successful broadcasting careers. They have remained cordial over the years. But Sunday’s hoots choir to the NFL legend shows that, despite a Lombardi trophy in their case, colt fans still need more time to heal.
