The Senate confirms the choice of Trump Vatican

The American Senate confirmed on Saturday the choice of President Donald Trump for the American ambassador to the Vatican.

During a 49-44 vote, Brian Burch was confirmed as Trump’s choice at the Holy See. (Related: Mike Waltz erases the key obstacle to serve as Trump’s UN ambassador)

“The co-founder of Catholicvote, Brian Burch, was confirmed as Ambassador of the Holy See during a Senate vote of 49-44,” the Catholic vote on X.

“Burch, who lives in Chicago and was president of Catholicvote for seventeen years, will now represent the US government of Pope Leo, the first American pope and a native of Chicago himself,” Catholicvote said in a statement on Saturday.

Burch also published a declaration expressing his gratitude for the confirmation vote.

“Words cannot express my gratitude to all those who helped me reach this important position, especially my wife Sara, my 9 beautiful children, my Catholicvote team and all those who supported me in this trip,” said Burch. “I am particularly grateful to the example of my father, who went to eternal life last year, who taught me to love the Church and the deep blessings and responsibilities of being a citizen of the United States.”

He then talked about the important role played by the Catholic Church and his commitment to promote dignity and the common good.

“The Catholic Church is the most important and most important religious institution in the world, and its relationship with the United States is of vital importance. I am committed to working with leaders within the Vatican and the Trump administration to promote the dignity of all people and the common good,” said Burch.

Burch helped to start Catholicvote in 2005 to encourage Catholics to live their faith in public and political life, according to the company.
