How long does James Gunn’s Superman film last?

Warner Bros. Recently increased with “A Minecraft Movie”, “Final Destination: Bloodlines” and “Sinners” all considerable successes. It goes without saying that they would like “Superman” to follow suit, because it is overwhelmed by the weight of expectations in many different departments. James Gunn takes Triple Duty here as a writer, director of the film and C-PDG of the newly renamed DC studios with Peter Safran. The re -emergence of the man of steel in the eyes of the public is presented as the ideal opportunity to wipe the slate of the previous range of DCEU and release films.
We do not know if it will be the feeling of Hit Smash they hope, but all that we have seen of “Superman” indicates that Gunn could achieve another miracle. The film seems not to be afraid to embrace some of the more stupid elements of Superman, while presenting a story that questions the beloved superhero at each stage of the path. David Corenswet is perhaps the biggest vote of confidence, because the little we have seen from him indicates that he understands more than the kind and warm nature of Clark Kent. This striking shot of Superman saves a child of an explosion in the trailer, associated with his passion in his voice to put an end to a violent conflict, more than sold to me in the role.
What means that the beginnings of Corenswet in Superman feel different from the others is that this version of the character already lives in a world occupied by heroes like Guy’s Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion) and Mister Trerific (Edi Gathegi). Gunn assured that his whole will not harm the concentration of the story of Superman, but people wondered how he was going to adapt to so much construction of the world in a film without making him feel overloaded. It is useful to have an idea of the execution, and we officially have one.
Superman runoff is the shortest for a first actor playing the steel man
In response to a question on the sons, Gunn confirmed that “Superman” will compete at 2 hours and 9 minutes. This includes both the film’s final credits, as well as all the credit scenes. Rumors had circulated by saying that Warner Bros. Asked Gunn to reduce the film to a shorter execution time, and a sons user decided to ask Gunn on this subject, which he fortunately stopped quickly. “Zero truth to that. And they couldn’t even if it was something they wanted. It’s a DC studios film,” said Gunn.
The validity of execution times means very little in isolation, because it really depends on what the film needs to achieve its goals. What we can do, however, is to compare it and contrast it with other films released in theater with the steel man. It should be noted that the “Superman” films featured the beginnings of an actor in the role generally tend to present a long execution time – although an exception.
The theatrical cup of “Superman: The Movie” of 1978 saw Christopher Reeve enter the DC projectors at 2 am and 23 minutes away, which happens to be exactly the same time of execution as the beginnings of the DCEU of Henry Cavill in “Man of Steel” of 2013. The overhaul of Brandon Routh of the version of Reeve of the character in “Superman Returns” is the longest with 2 hours and 34 minutes. Corenswet would have the shortest beginnings without George Reeves. The “Superman and the Mole Men” from 1951 not only preceded the famous television show to become the first film “Superman” in theater, but it is also incorporating 58 minutes surprisingly short.
Taken in the wide range of “Superman” films, the execution time of Gunn’s film adapts squarely in the middle of “Superman II” by Richard Lester and the theatrical cut of “Superman: The Movie”. Time will tell us if the man of steel can rejuvenate the enthusiasm of the public in the idea of another cinematographic universe of DC, but all the signs indicate a strong possibility, in particular with “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” by Craig Gillespie.
“Superman” is expected to go out in the rooms of the country on July 11, 2025.
