EXCLUSIVE: ITV Studios kicks off MIPCOM Cannes this morning with a series of format deals and the addition of Fox’s reality show Reality Channel. Lonely to its catalog.

In Spain, Atresmedia has become the latest buyer of a murder mystery guessing game show. A party to die fororiginally created by ITV Studios Netherlands and Talpa Studios. This follows local launches in the Netherlands and France.
ITV Studios Iberia is producing the Spanish version ahead of its launch on Atresmedia next year. The format sees celebrities being invited to a glamorous party, only to discover that one of them has been “murdered” before the event begins. The remaining guests must use their detective skills to solve the mystery and discover the culprit, with viewers playing the game via an app.
Come have dinner with me launched a fiftieth version with the launch of Canal+Magic Come dine with me Africa (French speaking). Produced by 909 Productions of the Mediawan group, the season will have 40 episodes. The format, still current in the ITV Studios catalogue, sees four players take turns cooking for the others, with the highest ranking winning a prize. It originated in the United Kingdom, where it is now made for Channel 4 by ITV Studios-owned Multistory Media, and has a spin-off, Come have dinner with me, teenagers.

On the show created by Lincoln Hiatt and Andrew Golder, contestants are confined to solitary confinement cells with no concept of day or night, no human contact, and no alliances — somewhat counter to the current wave of guessing game formats that force contestants to form pacts. They are guided solely by Val, an omnipresent computer entity, as they face relentless physical and mental challenges until the last survivor wins the prize.
The series has already been remade in Germany for ProSieben and in Brazil on SBT, but it has remained in isolation for many years. ITV Studios will aim to change that this MIPCOM.
