CenterPoint said the new fault tracker was based on the cloud and adapted to mobiles. The features of the breakdown tracker include:
- Up to date: The data is updated at the tracker every five minutes. They added that a customer’s breakdown status may not change, because it will update new restoration information available.
- Interface adapted to mobiles: Easy to use on mobile phones or tablets.
- Meteorological integration: Includes a layer of meteorological integration to see how the weather can have an impact on breakdowns.
- Improved reliability: The tracker is based on the cloud. This allows it to be evolving for growth, increasing web traffic and improved performance.
- Summary of reports: Provides a summary of breakdowns by the county, the city and the postal code.
- Street and satellite views: This feature helps customers better understand the density of vegetation in their region which can have an impact on breakdowns.
