‘Home Alone’ star Daniel Stern hospitalized with medical emergency

“Home Alone” actor Daniel Stern, 68, was hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency earlier this month.
Ventura County firefighters told TMZ that on October 7, they responded to a residence in Somis, California, where a person had to be evaluated by firefighters and transported to a nearby hospital.
The individual was Stern, according to TMZ’s sources, who said the actor has since been released from the hospital.
Stern’s rep confirmed to TMZ that he is “doing well now.”
The Post has reached out to the Ventura County Fire Department and Stern’s representative for comment.
Stern played Marv Murchins in the 1990 comedy directed by Chris Columbus and also starring Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci. A sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” was released two years later.
But today, Stern has left Hollywood to enjoy a quieter life on his ranch in California with his wife, Laure Mattos, and their three children.
“I made enough money that I didn’t have to work,” he told People last year. “I made quite a bit of money and I’m pretty frugal…I bought the house with cash. I bought the cars with cash. I bought everything outright because as an artist I never knew if [I was] I’m going to make more bread. And I said to my wife, “How much money do I need to put in the bank so that we can live off the interest and not have to work?” She said: “We made it. » “
“It was like, ‘OK, Dan, now you’re going to walk the talk’… ‘What am I going to do with it? Am I going to keep chasing another game or this one?’ » Stern added, noting that his decision to begin “stepping away” from Hollywood was to disconnect from the “overwhelming” reality of being in the spotlight.
Stern also told the publication that he hasn’t seen “Home Alone” in its entirety since the film premiered in 1990.
“I’ve seen clips. I’ve seen them pop up. Or like, they have highlights when you turn on the TV, I turn on the TV and then I come across the toys or something,” he said.
“But yeah, I mean, what, am I going to hunker down and watch myself?” Stern continued. “I love the movie. It’s great. I know the script inside and out.”
