Spiderman and Venom will meet in 2026, but it won’t be exactly like Marvel Cinematic Universe fans dreamed of. The Spider-Man film franchise includes two versions of Venom. The first was played by Topher Grace in the Tobey Maguire film. Spider-Man 3while the most recent was that of Tom Hardy, with an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Since Sony’s Spider-Man universe is dead, with Hardy’s Venom trilogy finished, fans have been calling for Marvel to have Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man fight in an MCU film. As of now, the SSU actor has not been revealed as part of the cast of Spider-Man: A Whole New Day. However, there is confirmation of an MCU Spider-Man and Venom meeting in 2026, with a twist.
Spider-Man and Venom will meet on TV in 2026
Venom and Spider-Man will not fight live, as their meeting in 2026 will take place in another medium. Recently, Marvel revealed the first look at the animation Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 at New York Comic Con. The trailer revealed that Venom will be part of the Spider-Man series opposite the Hudson Thames version of Peter Parker.
In the Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man season 1 finale, a piece of the symbiote remained in the hero’s universe after a major fight involving Doctor Strange, Norman Osborn and an alien. With Eddie Brock yet to debut in the animated series, there’s a chance that someone else could become Venom, with the likes of Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, and even Scorpion as candidates.
Although the animated series is not canon to the MCU, with Tom Holland not returning to voice Spider-Man, season 1 confirmed that the universe of the series is an alternate version of the Marvel franchise. Norman Osborn takes on the role of Iron Man, Captain America: Civil WarThe events mentioned, and many more, make the series present an alternate version of Holland’s Spider-Man.
Could Tom Holland’s Spider-Man ever meet Venom?
Fans may be able to watch a version of the MCU’s Spider-Man fighting Venom in 2026, but that’s not the showdown that has become a popular request for Marvel and Sony. Even though it doesn’t seem Spider-Man: A Whole New Day will include Venom, a piece of Tom Hardy’s symbiote is still in the MCU. A meeting is then possible.
With two Multiversal Avengers movies on the way, Marvel could easily have Hardy’s Eddie Brock leave the SSU and bond with the symbiote, “resurrect” Venom after his Venom: The Last Dance death. Alternatively, Flash Thompson and Scorpion have donned the symbiote in the comics, and one of them could do so in the MCU to fight Tom Holland’s. Spiderman.
