Roblin died Monday evening after recently 79 years old.
Roblin, affectionately known on Hill TV under the name of “Robbie”, reported thousands of stories during the five times he worked at WBAL-TV, the fifth duration of 24 years.
Although all its reports were very memorable, the live shots of the hurricane were legendary.
“I am here on the entrance, and you can see how the wind blows. The water, when it strikes you in the face, bite just. But it is not only water, it is the sand,” Rob reported. “This is the community of Bayside Beach, and the wind is opposite … It begins to sting. For the people who have decided to stay here, the decision has already been made. It is practically too late to leave Ocean City at this stadium.”

But if you want to know who was really Rob Roblin, it was years of dedication to the polar bear diving, jumping in the icy waters of Chesapeake Bay for the benefit of the special Olympic Games of Maryland, even when he compromised his own health, when he had the fundamental beginnings of hyperthermia. The dive will never be the same without you again.
But what was the most distinguished at Rob Roblin, is how he loved and understood people, especially the people of his beloved adopted city – and they loved him right away.

“You don’t need to be smart in Baltimore. You don’t have to be beautiful. You don’t need to be talented. I’m proof of this. But what you need to be is laughing at yourself. What you need to be is real. And, if you can’t take them and you can’t take honest criticism.
Robbie retired from Wbal-TV in 2014.
