Former American secretary of state Hillary Clinton, appearing on the Podcast “Raging Moderates”, said that she would name Trump for the price if he managed to bring Putin to put an end to his war and make the whole territory that his forces have taken from Ukraine in the conflict.

“You know, look, if we could do this, if President Trump was the architect, I would name him for a Nobel Peace Prize,” she said during the interview.

Trump and Putin are expected to meet face to face with anchorage with a base Elmendorf -Richardson – the largest military installation in Alaska – Friday. The summit marked the first time in 10 years that Putin has been hosted on American soil.

The president expressed the hope that the meeting will lead to peace between Russia and Ukraine in the near future, noting that a more immediate objective for Friday’s meeting would be to guarantee a second meeting with the Russian president.

He told a journalist on Thursday at the Oval Office, “And if it’s a bad meeting, it will end very quickly. And if it’s a good meeting, we will end up having peace in the fairly close future.”

Clinton said there were several things that Trump needed for Putin to accept if he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

“But perhaps this is an opportunity to specify that there must be a ceasefire, there will be no exchange of territory, and that, over a period of time, Putin should really withdraw from the territory he has grasped in order to demonstrate his efforts in good faith, say, not to threaten European security,” she said.

The former chief diplomat of the United States said that if Trump could negotiate these conditions, she would name it, adding: “Because my goal here is not to allow Putin’s capitulation, helped and encouraged by the United States.”

“I think it is a terrible and terrible precedent, and I think it would make our country less safe, I think it will reward Putin’s assault, and it will not stop. We know,” added Clinton.

Clinton said it was a “dream” of his own that Trump will succeed in the next meeting and said that if the Nobel Peace Prize was a sufficient motivation for Trump to realize this dream, then he should get it.

“And I dream that, for any combination of reasons, including the elusive Nobel Peace Prize, President Trump could actually resist Putin on behalf of, not only Ukraine and his democracy and his very courageous people, but frankly, in the name of our own security and interests,” she said.
